I miss you, Charlie. I think you were the only one Heinrich really liked. Fato. Love, Jo

Here we are in 2013 and I still think of you.  You were such an imature jerk with your fast driving. You were also a brilliant guy. So much fun and brave enough to speak up to all the robot teachers in the public school system. You actually got them to listen sometimes - when they found their courage to not cut you off right away because they knew you were right.  I married, at 21, a few years after dating you for a longtime - when two years was an eternity in our teens. I still want to know what you would have become, not profession, but personality, Dad, etc. I hope there is great peace after dealth and a real chance to right our wrongs so to speak but all I know right now, as part of the living, is that I didn't get to have you as a friend, a presence in my life. It is totally selfish, but I needed you to talk to many times and that has been an ever present sadness. I wish you had realized, what your peers have finally come to know -- we aren't invincable- we have precious little time-- a lot of crap comes along with living but it is the best alternative even though the regrets are not fun.

If you are capable of hearing me I had to let you know. You are missed, you made a mark, you were loved, I'm thinking of you again today.

Peace my friend,

So Charlie, you'd get a kick out of this ...

It turns out that Anne and I have become friends due to music.  She and I are both in the Metropolitan Wind Symphony and are both on the board.  We connected a couple years ago when we started chatting before a board meeting about our backgrounds.  You know, the "Where did you grow up?" ... "Needham?  Really, me too" ... "Did you go to NHS?" "Yes, me to" ... etc.

You'd be happy to know that Anne's doing well.  She's retired and lives part of the year in Naples, FL.  We chat about you and your Dad periodically.  I was saddened when he passed a while back.  He was always terrific to me and fun to be around.

You were a good friend and I've never forgotten you.
