Wayne Jennings

Wayne Robert Jennings, 68, passed away suddenly on September 10, 2019 in Raymond, NH. He was born April 19, 1951 in Boston, MA., son of loving mother Ethel (Charlton) Jennings and the late Robert A. Jennings.
Wayne grew up in Jamaica Plains and Needham, MA. He graduated from Needham High School, class of 1969 and earned his Associate Degree in Business from Dean College in Franklin, MA. In 1972, Wayne enlisted into the United States Army during Vietnam. He served two years honorably and was stationed with his family over in Germany. After his discharge, the family settled in Needham, MA. Wayne later earned his BA degree in Business and Marketing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and his MA degree from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Wayne had a long career in the electronics field. He was formerly employed with Impact Electronics, Wyle Electronics, Cramer Electronics, and Rochester Electronics until his retirement. He went back to work full time as a delivery driver for Jaffarian Volvo in Haverhill, MA. Wayne was very appreciative of his 46 years of marriage to Meredith "Merry" Wheeler whom he married on April 29, 1973. They raised two children Tammy and Jason and Wayne was tremendously proud of both of them. The last 35 years, Wayne and Merry have resided in Newbury, MA. Wayne's passion was spending time with his family. He loved vacationing with his wife and family and would spend many family vacations on the cape in Chatham, MA. His favorite vacation spent was in Tahiti. His proudest family moment was walking his granddaughter down the aisle for her wedding and now spending time with his great-grandchildren. His hobbies included watching television and following the NE Patriots. In his younger years, he liked skiing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Merry Jennings, daughter, Tammy Jennings of Rowley, MA, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Janet Jennings of Groton, MA, granddaughter and her husband, Morgan-Lee Brooks and Adrian Brooks, great grandchildren, Riley Brooks and Adrian Brooks Jr., his mother, Ethel Jennings, sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Larry Prescott of York, ME, brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Mary Ellen Jennings of Needham, MA, nephew, Christopher Prescott and his wife, Meridith of PA, nieces, Danielle Jennings, Kristen Jennings and Erin Jennings all of Needham, MA, and uncle, Al MacDonald and many cousins.

Didn’t know Wayne well from school but got to know him during our professional careers.  He was a sweet fun guy.  Have known Merry since I was a kid.  So sorry for her and the family. Will miss not seeing them. A great loss. Sounds like he’s had a great life.  R.I.P.
